With an impressive background as a VC, Loris Lanzellotti has spent over 15 years investing in startups through the vehicles he has founded, including Boost Heroes, Excellis, and Entrepreniston. In total, he has invested in more than 110 startups and achieved over 20 exits so far, with top-quartile returns.
In 2020, he discovered the SF model, and two years later, he backed AdAstra Partners. Since then, he has supported more than 15 SFs, most of them in Italy, but also in Mexico, Spain, France, and the UK. Among the recent ones are Sunrise Capital, Exicap, LDue Capital, Castellum Equity Partners, Solferino Capital, and Peak 35 Capital Partners. He participated in the acquisition of Link.it last year and expects to invest in a couple of acquisitions in Italy in the coming months.
Until now, he has been investing in small to medium-sized units in SFs, but he has decided to double down on this asset class and has gathered support from a team of angel investors like himself. They are working on launching Akiro Partners, a fund that will primarily invest in Italian SFs. With a venture-driven approach focused on scaling promising startups from the seed stage to unicorn status, Loris aims to move beyond being just an investor in SFs. Inspired by the world’s leading incubators, he envisions adopting a venture builder approach within the SF asset class.
