The gardening sector is proving increasingly attractive to UK self-funded searchers. Over the past 6 months, 3 transactions have taken place in this space. The first was Sebastiaan Willen, founder of Profectus Capital Partners, who acquired Vistafolia, a UK-based manufacturer and distributor of premium artificial green walls and greenery products. The second was a joint acquisition by Olivier Stapylton-Smith (Kantic Capital) and Georges Nakhle (Mirable Group), who teamed up to acquire Rhino Greenhouses Direct, a leading British manufacturer of premium greenhouses. Now, entrepreneur Edd Salter, through his investment company Heronshaw Group, has acquired Scottish Everlastings. The deal was supported by a £2.3m debt funding package from HSBC.
Scottish Everlastings is the UK’s leading supplier of artificial florals and home accessories. Founded over 40 years ago, the company combines in-house design expertise with global sourcing to deliver high-quality products to many of the UK and Europe’s leading retailers. Its product range offers decorative solutions for all areas of the home—living spaces, kitchens, bathrooms, gardens, and storage—as well as seasonal items and gifts. The company operates from its headquarters and warehouse in Fife, with an additional office in Hong Kong.
Edd commented: “The business has a fantastic, dedicated, talented team and significant growth potential, qualities that align closely with both my investment thesis and personal values. I’m incredibly excited to support the team already in place and help guide Scottish Everlastings into its next chapter, focusing on international expansion”.
