With a background in Private Equity, global M&A, and direct P&L management in mid-market companies, and after leading last year the exit of Nova Telecom (acquired by the search fund Light Wave Capital in 2021), where he tripled cash flow and halved churn, Luis Eduardo Blanco decided it was time to establish his own SF. He launched Igarapava Capital with funding from investors in the US, Europe, Israel, and Brazil, including Istria Capital, JB46, Spectra Investments, Vonzeo Capital, Inseta Partners, Kinderhook Partners, BM Holdings, The Cromwell Harbor Foundation, Pitlane Capital, Colca Capital, Felipe Argalji, and Rafael Araujo.
Luis has served as CEO and CFO in companies undergoing transition, structured complex international M&A transactions, and led teams through critical phases of growth and restructuring. He began his career in finance at institutions such as Itaú BBA, Alvarez & Marsal, and Banco ABC Brasil, building a strong foundation in M&A and corporate finance, before advancing to portfolio management roles at SPX Capital and Cartesian Capital Group. He later transitioned into operating roles, including leadership positions at Uber and as COO and Portfolio Manager at Beep Soluções Financeiras, where he combined financial expertise with hands-on execution. As CEO of NOVA, he led a successful transformation, significantly improving financial performance, driving customer growth, and executing a landmark exit.
He is now actively seeking a strong Brazilian company to acquire and lead, leveraging his experience in management, finance, and business expansion. He targets companies with a solid track record, strong reputation, structural resilience, and growth potential—typically with revenues between R$50M and R$250M—that do not require restructuring and are not in high-tech sectors.
