Niccolò Cavallaro and Andrea Taurelli Salimbeni, former managers at Bain & Co, have launched LDue Capital in Italy, a SF aimed at identifying and investing in promising companies. Drawing on their extensive strategic consulting background acquired at EY and Bain & Co, the duo has successfully secured approximately €650k in funding from over 20 international investors.
Noteworthy among these investors are professional institutions like Alza Capital Partners, Evolutiq, Istria Capital, JB46, Sentinel Capital, SF Club and 9T Capital. Additionally, LDue Capital has garnered support from several private investors, including William Thorndike, Thomas Bhuler, Jan Woitschatzke, Gernot Eisinger, Tobias Raeber, León Bartolomé, and Italian investors such as Vito Giurazza, Loris Lanzillotti or Rocco Cavallo.
The primary focus of LDue Capital will be on companies with a turnover ranging up to €40M and an EBITDA between €2M and €4M. The principals believe there is significant potential for innovation and growth in this segment. They aim to create value through various strategic levers, including consolidating positioning in core business, evaluating potential adjacencies for expansion, improving the operating model, internationalizing, optimizing cost-allocation processes, implementing a dedicated HR strategy, and engaging in M&A.
LDue Capital’s approach will involve an opportunistic and data-driven search, with a specific emphasis on verticals such as IT Services & Software, Healthcare, specialty Logistics, Food and EdTech. Both Cavallaro and Taurelli bring strong experience to these sectors, positioning them with a competitive advantage in identifying and nurturing potential investment opportunities.
