The UK’s entrepreneurial landscape is witnessing a remarkable surge in SF activity, a trend that will be celebrated at the 2nd annual ETA Awards on November 7, 2024. This prestigious event, organized by Gerald Edelman and hosted at Landing Forty Two in London, aims to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of SF entrepreneurs and the growing community of acquisition professionals.
Recent years have seen significant growth in the establishment of SFs, particularly in the US & Canada where a record of 94 traditional SFs were launched in 2023. With its vibrant entrepreneurial scene, the UK is emerging as a hub for this innovative approach to business ownership, offering ambitious individuals a unique pathway to success through acquisition.
The ETA Awards are designed to shine a spotlight on the exceptional achievements within this dynamic sector. The awards will feature several categories, including Deal of the Year (for both Traditional and Self-Funded searchers), Lender of the Year, Community Contribution, and ESG Excellence. Each entry will be meticulously evaluated by a distinguished panel of industry experts, including Bramley Johnson, Director of the International Search Fund Center and a seasoned SF investor; Alex Glasner, a successful searcher who acquired Workpays and won an ETA award for this transaction; and Lisa Conmy, a Partner at JMW.
Carl Lundberg, CEO of Gerald Edelman and Founder of The ETA Awards, will host the event with the support of a celebrity compere. The event’s primary sponsor, Shawbrook Bank, along with Marriott Harrison, Ashtons Legal, BizCrunch, and JMW, will help elevate the recognition of the acquisition entrepreneur community. Notably, this year sees the introduction of Irwin Mitchell as the drinks sponsor and Altenburg Advisory as the entertainment sponsor. Search Fund News joins as the media partner for this year.
