Founded by Juan Carlos Cano and Enric Ballus Armet, two friends who share the same passion for entrepreneurship while maintaining a human approach, Entredos (which means “between two”) was created with the mission of ensuring the continuity and sustainable long-term growth of a Spanish SME. The searchers have successfully attracted 16 top investors, including international funds such as Istria Capital, Aurica Search Fund, Vonzeo Capital, Ventura Search Capital, Cabiedes Inversiones, Secways, Spectra Investments, Albira Investments, and numerous private investors such as Dr. Thomas Bühler, Dr. Gernot Eisinger, Will Thorndike, Herbert Doleisch, Frank Kenny, Tobias Raeber, Jürgen Rilling, and Jan Woitschätzke.
Both are engineers with MBAs from IESE Business School. The alignment of entrepreneurial spirits in Juan Carlos and Enric is no mere coincidence, as both were raised observing their families navigate the intricacies of managing their own businesses. This shared background instilled in them a profound motivation to lead and build their own enterprises.
Enric brings over 7 years of experience in Operations, having built and led teams across Europe for a retail supplier, established crisis management protocols for an infrastructure concessionaire, and spearheaded global projects in the automotive sector. Since 2018, he has served as Deputy to the Global COO at Zanini, a Tier 1 automotive supplier. In 2021 during the COVID outbreak, Enric embraced a significant responsibility by relocating to China as an Interim Plant Manager. There, alongside a Chinese counterpart, they designed and led a turnaround plan. This involved identifying and addressing management team dysfunctions, restructuring parts of the team, establishing key production process focus groups, and prioritizing KPIs through specific step-down plans and shift-by-shift analyses. With unwavering support from the local team and leveraging global resources, the tandem orchestrated a swift recovery. Within just two months, the profit and loss statement rebounded to budget levels. Impressively, the plant achieved record-breaking results for the entire group within six months. This enabled Enric to promote their expansion with the construction of the group’s second production plant in China and third in Asia.
Juan Carlos brings over 7 years of experience in Corporate Finance and Investments. He has a strong track record in financial and strategic management within SMEs and startups with global reach, accumulating over €85M in M&A and debt transactions in emerging markets. Since 2015, he played a key role in Arpa Capital (Mexican SF) assisting the searchers with the institutionalization, and growth of Sekura, expanding the company from 50 to over 250 employees and growing 6x EBITDA from 2015 to 2020, through roll-up and geographical expansion strategies, establishing it as one of the top three insurance brokers and risk managers in the region. Following his entrepreneurial spirit in 2021, when he became a digital nomad, Juan Carlos joined Job&Talent where he led the implementation of a new standardized financial reporting process for their global operations. Then, during his MBA journey, he founded InvEd (Invest in Education) a fintech platform that enabled investing in postgraduate students, making higher education abroad more accessible for students in emerging markets. Before launching Entredos, he joined Walter Ventures the European venture arm of a Canadian multi-asset investment group, participating in the bezahl.de and Nearby Computer deals and deal sourcing future opportunities.
Early in their MBA journey, Juan Carlos and Enric recognized the potential synergy between them as search partners. Over the past two years of their MBA, this partnership has evolved into a robust collaboration, where both have actively delved into understanding each other’s motivations and backgrounds. They’ve undertaken a journey of mutual challenge, thoroughly assessing values and life priorities through shared experiences—collaborating on group projects, engaging in extensive discussions, participating in weekend retreats with partners and spouses, and establishing personal connections with each other’s families and friends. This deliberate exploration of their capabilities and values has solidified their partnership, paving the way for Juan Carlos and Enric to form the strongest possible team as they embark on their entrepreneurial journey through a partnered SF.
Entredos Capital is exclusively focused on finding a single, high-quality company that has a motivated seller and the potential to achieve meaningful growth. Although the Principals initially intend to target specific sectors within industries such as business services, software, and healthcare, they do not plan to limit their search exclusively to these industries given the size of the Spanish market and the wide array of opportunities it presents.
