Koen Theeuwes, former Commercial Director at a Dutch SME and driven for years by the ambition to become an entrepreneur himself, has launched the search for one Dutch company to acquire and personally lead, with the team and culture at the heart of the transition. To do so, he founded South Haven Capital, backed by a group of experienced entrepreneurs and investors, including Forti SF Partners, Innesto Partners, Lineage, Orca Equity Partners, Marc Bartomeus and José-María Clotet, SearchRight Capital Partners, TBD Investors, Endurance Search Partners, MaasInvest, Search Fund Pioneer, Gallium Growth and Scipio.
Koen Theeuwes combines a strong strategic and financial background with hands-on entrepreneurial experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Finance & Investments from Erasmus University Rotterdam and started his career as a Strategy Consultant at OC&C and EY-Parthenon, advising major corporates and private equity firms on business strategy and commercial due diligence. He then moved into commercial roles at Kraft Heinz before becoming Director of Business Development at Dutch SME 2theloo. His entrepreneurial drive also led him to found and successfully sell his own company, BEWOLKT Shishas, in 2018.
He is looking for one established Dutch company with €5M to €25M in revenue that is ready for its next phase, likely because the current owner is approaching retirement without a clear successor. His search is focused on companies with sustainable EBITDA margins above 15%, a strong market position and defensible competitive advantages, as well as recurring revenue or a predictable customer base. Beyond the financial criteria, Theeuwes is looking for a business with a solid foundation, loyal employees and customers, and clear opportunities for operational improvement and growth.
