Luis Díaz-Barceló Suanzes and Erick O’Neill, Managing Partners of the self-funded search fund Sisal Capital, have successfully acquired Pentatel Comunicaciones. The deal has been 50% leveraged by Banco Santander, while the equity portion was financed by investors including Beka Alpha Search Funds, Cabiesa, LEN Investments, León Bartolomé, Enrique Locutura, Mugello Inversiones, Grupo Santa Marta, and Alejandro Rodríguez Carmona. Miguel, the son of the previous owner will remain with the company as Manager.
Founded in 2000, Pentatel Comunicaciones has over 25 years of experience specializing in technology consulting and project integration to drive digital transformation for businesses and institutions. The company provides tailored solutions in audiovisual integration, IT infrastructure, and technical support, helping organizations enhance productivity and communication impact. With a strong commitment to innovation and quality, Pentatel supports major clients such as Bankinter, Santander, Deloitte, Endesa, BBVA, ING, and Iberdrola in optimizing their digital environments for greater efficiency and security. With a team of over 28 professionals, the company has experienced significant growth in recent years, increasing its turnover from €10.5M in 2022 to €17M in 2024, and its EBITDA from €1.2M to over €2.4M.
Luis and Erick took approximately six months to identify the company and six months to close the deal, demonstrating that the self-funded model can be a viable option within the EtA landscape. They were drawn to Pentatel due to its consistent 20% annual revenue growth and 30% EBITDA growth over the past five years. The company executes around 1,000 projects per year for approximately 250 clients. As they explained to us, one of Pentatel’s key competitive advantages is its highly professionalized team, where engineers handle most of the integrations for clients. Going forward, their main challenges to further scale the company include increasing recurring revenue, professionalizing data analysis and establishing analytical accounting, and organizing their sales force by sector.
