With over a decade of investment and consulting experience in Southeast Asia, Matt Windsor has launched Regen Capital Partners, the first traditional SF focused on Thailand. The name “Regen” derives from “rebirth” and “generation”, two concepts that lie at the core of his vision and values. He is supported by a distinguished group of institutional and private investors, including Lighthaven, Ambit Partners, AIJ Global, The Cromwell Harbor Partnership, Silver Straits Capital, Spectra Investments, Novidam, Japan Search Fund Accelerator, Inseta Partners, among others.
After earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Matt began his career at Bain & Company in Southeast Asia, where he gained extensive project experience across industries such as consumer products, technology, financial services, and PE. His work covered a wide range of initiatives including strategy development, market expansion, digital transformation, operational excellence, cultural change, and cost optimization. Following his tenure at Bain, Matt joined Openspace Ventures, a leading venture and growth capital firm in Southeast Asia. Over six years, he developed deep expertise across the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and deal execution to portfolio management and exits. He has operated and invested across multiple Southeast Asian markets, with a particular focus on Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Through Regen Capital Partners, Matt seeks to acquire one SME with revenues between US$5-10M, primarily based in Thailand and the broader Southeast Asia region. While sector agnostic, he focuses on B2B services, software, consumer goods, and healthcare. Ideal targets operate in large, fast-growing markets characterized by high fragmentation and meaningful barriers to entry. He values businesses with strong brands, recurring revenues, and loyal customer bases, supported by capable management teams and people-oriented cultures. Target companies should demonstrate solid profitability and consistent cash generation, ideally with EBITDA above US$1M.
