After working together at Aptimus Capital—an investment firm specialized in direct lending and advisory services to mid-market companies—investment professionals Andrés Garrido and Curro Fita have embarked on their next venture: Preludio Partners.
They are committed to acquiring a leading SME, building on the founder’s legacy, and driving long-term growth for the business and its stakeholders. “The company we acquire will be just as unique to us as it has been to its founder for decades. We will relocate with our families and work side by side with the team to build the next chapter together.”
To support this vision, they have secured investment from 16 investors across 10 countries, all bringing deep operational and strategic expertise. Notable backers include Relay Investments, Vonzeo Capital, Aurica, Turtle Capital, RPG Capital, Tres Coronas Capital, Evolutiq, Forti Search Fund Partners, Secways, Ventura Search Capital, Spectra Investments, Colca Capital, CNEO Partners and Grupo Marquina.
With over 20 years of combined experience in the financial sector, they have invested more than €300M in over 60 Spanish family-owned businesses across various industries, establishing a strong track record in sourcing, structuring, and executing mid-market transactions. Curro has built deep relationships with entrepreneurs, leading deals in sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and industrials, while spearheading the creation of a successful energy division. Meanwhile, Andrés has guided companies through both growth initiatives and complex restructuring efforts, contributing to key areas like fundraising and the development of financial and monitoring systems.
Their guiding principle is: “First, we understand what you have built. Then, we maximize its potential.” Preludio Partners seeks companies with EBITDA above €2M, robust cash flows, and the potential for sustainable, strategic growth. While sector-agnostic, they prioritize businesses poised for long-term success—those operating in markets with strong tailwinds, predictable revenue streams, and competitive moats that create real barriers to entry. They look for industries where consolidation, innovation, or operational improvements can unlock untapped value.
