When we launched Search Funds News last year, we set out to gradually compile a comprehensive list of Search Fund acquisitions worldwide (excluding the USA and Canada, where SFs began 40 years ago, making the task nearly impossible, but we have included all deals from the past 3–4 years).
We have now successfully documented deals completed in recent years across 30 countries, surpassing 350 transactions—more than 300 of which occurred in the last five years. In over 20 countries, our data represents the complete record of all acquisitions made by search funds since their inception.
Why this database is valuable for searchers:
- Country-Specific Insights: Get an overview of search fund activity in your country.
- Industry Trends: Identify sectors and business models that are particularly attractive to searchers.
- Comparable Deals: When submitting an LOI for a target, find similar companies acquired by searchers and gain insights from their experiences.
- Equity Gap Solutions: Connect with searchers who have completed similar deals in other countries and may be interested in investing in yours.
- Board Member Search: Easily identify potential industry experts for your board.
We will continue expanding this list in the coming months. If you know of any deals we may have missed in your country, we’d love to hear from you.
