National Search Fund Co. (NSF) has completed a new business succession through its vehicle “SF Future Creation,” established in collaboration with the Bank of Yokohama, part of the Concordia Financial Group. Together with searcher Isao Takahashi, NSF has acquired Yashima Foods, a manufacturer and seller of tofu and fried tofu.
Founded in 1959, Yashima Foods is the largest tofu producer in Kanagawa Prefecture, bringing specialty tofu to countless households and preserving Japan’s traditional food culture. In recent years, despite challenges such as rising raw material costs and intensifying price competition, the company has maintained its commitment to quality and taste.
Mr. Takahashi brings extensive management experience to the role, having served as COO and CFO of the start-up Yamap, alongside his global business expertise at Nomura Securities and a hedge fund. Additionally, he has valuable experience from his involvement with Galapagos and Petokoto. NSF is confident that Mr. Takahashi is well-suited to carry forward the long-standing traditions of Yashima Foods while driving its further growth and development.
