Ilia Lotov has founded Kaizen X Capital with a clear objective: to find an exceptional American business that can be taken to new heights, building on what already makes it great, protecting what works, strengthening its foundation, and continuously improving it day by day. He is supported by a group of experienced investors, mentors, and operators, including Gestalt Capital, s16vc, Legate Partners, Riviera Capital Partners, Snowdon Partners, Colca Capital, Ventus Capital Partners, and Lava Root Ventures, among others.
Ilia began his career in finance with early analytical experience at The Intrieri Family Student Managed Fund and Goldman Sachs, where he developed a strong foundation in investment banking and valuation. He later joined Mubadala, where he executed direct investments across private equity, growth equity, and late-stage venture capital globally. Seeking to deepen his strategic and entrepreneurial expertise, he earned an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he held leadership roles in the Adam Smith Society, the VCPE Club, and the ETA Club. During his time at MIT, he also gained hands-on experience in growth investing at Mubadala’s New York office and worked on technology enablement and AI initiatives for SMBs at Stealth.
Today, through Kaizen X Capital, Ilia focuses on acquiring and operating a B2B services company in the United States, serving essential industries such as digital infrastructure, finance, and transportation. He is seeking a profitable and growing business generating at least $1.5M in EBITDA, characterized by high customer retention, low concentration risk, and stable, recurring, and predictable cash flows. He favors asset-light companies with limited capital expenditure requirements, enabling sustainable and scalable growth.
