Just after completing his MBA at INSEAD, young entrepreneur Jard van Heerde decided to launch Ventus Succession, a self-funded SF in the Netherlands. He chose not to raise capital in the traditional way so he could maintain more flexibility in building a partnership with the seller and, that way, focus on the seller’s needs. Because the Dutch small-cap M&A market is competitive with many local investment firms active, Jard distinguishes himself by leveraging his experience in digitization, growth strategy, and professionalization, to bring the business to the next stage of growth.
Jard discovered his passion for entrepreneurship at an early age while working at a family retail company. With strong experience in analyzing business opportunities, he began his career at Dutch investment funds, such as HB Capital and Vortex Capital Partners, before joining the Boston Consulting Group. At BCG, he spent the past four years focusing on helping medium-sized industrial companies with growth, strategy, and transformation. Although he enjoyed his work at BCG, he felt the work did not always align with what he found most important, such as a focus on execution, ownership, and direct communication.
Ventus is looking to acquire a healthy company in the Netherlands with an EBITDA ranging from €0.8M to €2M that is ready to go to the next level and accelerate growth. To increase his chances of success, he has established a board of advisors consisting of experienced entrepreneurs, who coach him on his journey.
