In mid-2024, Christian Gieger, who brings over 10 years of middle-market M&A experience, and Benedikt von Hatzfeldt, a successful founder of an executive search firm with many years of experience as a strategy consultant, joined forces to launch Tembo Search Partners. The platform was created to support searchers in Germany throughout the entire search and acquisition process.
One of the first searchers to onboard with Tembo Search Partners was Hermann Finkeldei, a finance and transformation expert who helped scale Flink SE into a $1 billion unicorn and who also has extensive experience restructuring a family-owned business. His search focused on sectors such as BPO, IT services, and testing, certification, and inspection services. In December 2025, Hermann Finkeldei successfully completed the buyout of UXO Pro Nachfolge GmbH, a Germany-based technical analysis and valuation services provider. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The company delivers highly specialized analysis and valuation services during the early phases of construction and infrastructure projects, acting as an independent and trusted partner. Through precise, data-driven expert assessments, it increases transparency around planning, technical, and regulatory risks, thereby supporting permitting processes, site selection decisions, and reliable project preparation.
More specifically, UXO Pro specializes in aerial image analysis and expert consulting to assess unexploded ordnance (UXO) contamination in land areas, particularly those affected by historical bombings. The company combines multitemporal aerial photograph analysis, historical research, and geospatial data to evaluate whether land may contain unexploded munitions. Its detailed reports enable construction planners, project developers, and other stakeholders to identify and manage potential risks before construction begins. UXO Pro’s services are delivered nationwide and include historical background research, investigation planning, and risk assessments to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
