Female Entrepreneur Launches China’s First Search Fund

In a market where women are unfortunately underrepresented at the helm of SFs, it is a pleasure to announce the launch of Prospect Search Capital. The founder, Xue (Snow) Lin, hailing from Wenzhou to a family of entrepreneurs and boasting several years of experience at KPMG, emerges as a trailblazer in the expansive market of China.

In 2022, Lin observed that neighboring countries like South Korea, Japan, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam all had SFs, while China, the world’s second-largest VC/PE market, lacked any. In less than a year, she successfully garnered support from 14 investors for her project. Notable contributors include international investors such as Ambit Partners, Inversiones Cabiedes, Vonzeo Capital, Richmond View Ventures, various serial entrepreneurs & family offices, and 3E Capital, the first SF institution investor in China.

Lin expresses her vision, stating, “I hope that the SF model can bring asset flow to China’s 270 million baby boomers born in the 1960s, address the challenges of business owners’ inheritance and exit, and simultaneously inspire more young people to embark on entrepreneurial journeys, thereby promoting efficient social development.”
