João Maia and Pedro Bogado have teamed up to launch Lac Léman Capital with the aim of acquiring and operating a single Brazilian company and leading it into a new phase of growth while preserving the legacy left by its founders. They are backed by institutional funds and private investors with a proven track record in the SF model across Brazil, the Americas, and Europe, including Spectra Investments, The Cromwell Harbor, Cerralvo Capital, KYR Capital, Kinderhook Partners, JB46, KVIV Ventures, Mazal Capital, Ambit Partners, Eduardo Bartolomeo, Paulo Pellon, Claudio Palai, Julian Tonioli, and Gabriel Ronacher.
João brings over 10 years of experience across strategy, operations, investments, and business development in Brazil. Before joining Lac Léman Capital, he was a Manager at Bain & Company, where he advised global investors on investment opportunities across a wide range of sectors, including infrastructure, energy, industrials, mining, financial services, software, and agriculture. His previous experience also includes co-founding StockBot, leading business development at Solar Grid, and holding investment and business development roles at Andrade Gutierrez. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from UFRJ and an MBA from the University of Oxford.
Pedro Bogado built his career in strategy, operations, and M&A across Brazil and international markets. He was Senior Group M&A Manager at Grundfos, where he led acquisitions across Europe, the United States, and Canada. His previous experience includes roles in strategy and operations at Andrade Gutierrez and as a Search Fund Associate at TBG Investimentos, giving him exposure to both corporate M&A and the SF ecosystem. Pedro holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from UFF, an MBA from IMD in Switzerland, and has completed finance studies at London Business School.
They are looking to acquire established and profitable businesses in Brazil, typically with annual revenues of R$50–200M and EBITDA above R$10M. The firm focuses on companies with solid fundamentals, a consistent track record of profitability, and a diversified, recurring customer base, particularly in B2B services, agribusiness, financial services, software, and specialized industries. It favors attractive and fragmented markets across Brazil and seeks owners considering succession or a new chapter who are open to a respectful transition and the sale of a controlling stake of 80–100%.
