Cristóbal Hilario, Enrique Valdivieso, and Francisco Montt have been business partners for over 15 years, united by their shared background as industrial engineers from the Universidad Católica de Chile. Before embarking on their entrepreneurial journey, the trio gained valuable experience in various roles within Chile’s financial sector.
In 2009, they founded Form Design, a company that quickly became a significant player in Chile’s home and office furniture retail industry. Just a year later, they launched a self-funded SF with a specific focus on small car rental companies in Chile. Supported by a local family office, they successfully acquired Chilean Rent a Car and United Rent a Car in 2012.
Over the next 12 years, they expanded this business from 80 vehicles and 2 locations to an impressive fleet of 2,500 cars and 12 locations nationwide. This growth included an M&A transaction that allowed the family office to exit, integrating their company into a leading entity in the Latin American car rental market. Building on this success, they set their sights on replicating their experience in other sectors.
Recently, they established Brik Capital, a self-funded SF backed by local family offices and individual investors in Chile. Cristóbal and Enrique are leading Brik Capital as managing partners, while Francisco continues to serve as CEO of Chilean Rent a Car and contributes to Brik Capital as a director.
Brik Capital aims to acquire one or two companies with annual revenues between USD$5M and $15M and an EBITDA margin of at least 15%. Leveraging their extensive operational, financial, and technology-driven expertise, they seek to drive substantial growth and create value for all stakeholders involved.
With a strong belief that opportunities abound in nearly every industry, Brik Capital is determined to prove this thesis by expanding its footprint and impact across various sectors.
