Ambit Partners has announced the final closing of its second global fund of SFs (Fund II), oversubscribed at its $60M hard cap. A diverse range of new investors supported the vehicle, along with anchor investors such as PagsGroup—the family office of private equity pioneer and Bain Capital Senior Advisor Steve Pagliuca—and TTCER, the investment vehicle of the principals behind Asurion, the most successful Search Fund in history. This collective backing underscores strong confidence in Ambit Partners’ vision and execution strategy.
Fund II builds on the momentum of Ambit Partners’ inaugural fund, maintaining its focus on investing in 60–80 SFs. The goal is to create a globally diversified portfolio of 20–30 acquisitions across North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. To date, Fund II has completed its first two acquisitions and committed to over 30 SFs, including recent investments in Soclofi, Covadonga Capital Partners, Nostos Capital, Renovatio, Oryx Legacy, Sobreiro Capital, Vericor Capital, Orangeland Capital, Longati Capital, Gaman Succession, Almirante Capital, Kerem Capital, and LTP Capital. Ambit is also known as a pioneer in supporting “first-in SFs” across multiple continents, with recent investments in OxMar Partners (Saudi Arabia), Fram Kapital (Norway), Floreo Capital (Taiwan), 720 Fund (India), and Nusatu Capital (Malaysia), among others.
Ambit Partners co-founder and Managing Partner, Rob LeBlanc, said: “We are excited and truly humbled by the interest in our strategy.” Ambit Partners co-founder and Partner, Niel Wyma, continued: “Exceeding our hard cap in a challenging fundraising environment is an incredible outcome. We remain grateful for the support and confidence of our investor group.” Fellow co-founder and Partner, Andrew Locke, added: “None of this would be possible without the hard work that our Fund I and early Fund II Searchers and CEOs put in every day. We are lucky to work with such incredible people all over the world, and, now that our fundraising efforts are wrapped up, we are energized to put our heads down and execute together.”
With Fund I, and dedicated co-invest structures established with leading investors, Fund II brings Ambit Partners’ assets under management to $100M. To date, the firm has supported 100+ SFs across 30+ countries.
