In 2023, Relais du Dirigeant, led by industrial engineer Rafaël Dufour, acquired Sharp Tools Group, now renamed Allya. He has now completed the acquisition of competitor Diamac, which operates in France and Switzerland, creating a group focused on the manufacture and sharpening of high-technology cutting tools. The transaction was completed without requiring additional equity from its investors. The new group brings together four complementary entities: ASP, Alsameca, Diamac France and Diamac Suisse, with more than 60 employees, over 650 active customers and a fleet of more than 40 CNC machines across France and Switzerland. The combined group generates around €4M in EBITDA. The four companies will retain their identities, teams and locations while operating under a shared long-term industrial strategy.
Founded in 1973, Diamac has more than 50 years of experience in the design and manufacture of high-precision cutting tools, including carbide and PCD tools, profiled inserts and customized tool holders. With operations in Cléron, France, and Porrentruy, Switzerland, the company employs 23 people and serves demanding industries including watchmaking, jewelry, medical and automotive. Allya brings together ASP, founded in 1995 in Hortes, and Alsameca, founded in 1978 in Lutterbach. The two companies have nearly 80 years of combined experience in cutting-tool sharpening and manufacturing and employ close to 40 people, serving customers in aerospace, medical, automotive and precision engineering.
The combination is designed to strengthen the group’s industrial capabilities while preserving the local expertise and customer relationships of each entity. By combining their complementary expertise, the group can offer a broader and more integrated range of solutions to its customers. The enlarged organization also provides greater production capacity, operational resilience and financial strength, while maintaining the proximity of the four businesses.
“Our ambition is clear: to build a strong international industrial group capable of supporting our customers in their pursuit of performance. Our mission can be summed up in one sentence: to solve the most complex machining challenges, in the shortest possible time and with the highest quality. Preserving this expertise also means preserving part of our industrial heritage,” said Rafael Dufour, CEO of Allya.
