Search Fund Japan, one of the leading local investment firms, supported Akira Ueda in the acquisition of At World Co., the company operating the D-Side Study Abroad Information Center. This marks the fourth investment from its second fund launched in 2023, and was co-executed with Tokyo Search Fund, established at the end of the same year.
D-Side Study Abroad Information Center is a Japan-based agency founded in Osaka in 1999, specializing in high school study abroad programs. With a network of over 1,000 partner institutions across 32 countries, the company offers a wide range of opportunities, including language study, working holidays, university placements, and overseas internships. Known for its personalized counseling and commitment to helping clients achieve their international education goals, D-Side was nominated in the Asia Agent category at the 2025 ST Secondary School Awards by StudyTravel magazine, recognizing its leadership and innovation in the evolving study abroad industry.
Newly appointed President Akira Ueda expressed deep gratitude to his predecessor, Mr. Hamabata (who will continue as an advisor), as well as to employees and clients. He emphasized his commitment to continuing D-Side’s mission of nurturing global talent, especially through high school study abroad programs that shape character and foster cross-cultural understanding.
