Serial entrepreneur Álvaro J. Domínguez founded AJD Partners with the goal of acquiring and managing a single Spanish SME with a long-term ownership perspective. AJD was created after restructuring more than 10 Spanish SMEs and undertaking a period of independent investment research using his own capital. This business continuity project aims to preserve the founder’s legacy, support the team, and help the company enter its next phase of development. The initiative has attracted the support of national and international investors, including Aurica, Evolutiq, Moonbase, Spectra Investments, Cabiesa, Scipio, Newton Equity Partners, 9T Capital, Gallium Growth, Celium Capital, Le Fonds, Asta Capital, and Suda Partners.
Álvaro combines executive leadership, entrepreneurial experience, and hands-on operational expertise. With a background in Economics, Business Administration and Management, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, as well as a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity and international experience in The Netherlands, he brings a global perspective to the long-term management of Spanish SMEs. He has founded and led four companies as CEO/Managing Director, including the successful sale of one, and has worked with more than 20 SMEs across Spain, Europe, and the Americas, collaborating closely with founders, executives, and management teams. His expertise covers restructuring, finance, operational improvement, automation, business systems, digital transformation, sales, marketing, IT, and strategy. Throughout his career, Álvaro has held leadership positions including Interim COO at GrupoHKS, CEO & Partner at Finance Academy, CEO & Co-Founder of AulaHome Air, Founder & CEO of Rentalo, and IT Business Manager at agap2. He has also advised international organizations and startups, combining strategic vision with practical execution to help companies grow, adapt, and enhance performance.
Álvaro is seeking established and profitable companies where he can lead the next stage of growth through a meaningful ownership transition. He focuses on businesses in Spain, with selective openness to related European opportunities, typically generating €5–20M in revenue and €1–3M in EBITDA, with recurring revenues, strong cash generation, committed teams, and defensible market positions. He is particularly interested in B2B services, specialty distribution, niche manufacturing, and recurring service businesses with resilient demand and solid operational foundations, where there is an opportunity to improve processes, scale operations, and create sustainable long-term value.
