Herbert Doleisch, Jan Woitschätzke, Nicolas Rudzki and Thomas Buehler, seasoned entrepreneurs and investors with over 40 years of combined experience in the SF landscape, have teamed up to launch Valmaris Private Investors, a founder-led investment firm backing exceptional searchers and operators across Europe.
Instead of setting up a traditional fund, they chose to work together as a team and invest their own capital, with a long-term orientation. This approach frees them from the usual pressures of closing deals quickly, deploying capital within strict timelines, or generating liquidity for external investors. As they explained, one of their main advantages is the ability to act with speed, commitment, and integrity, partnering with those who build with purpose and lead with ambition.
With extensive experience in entrepreneurship and PE, as well as in value creation, M&A and financing, complemented by first-hand CEO/operator background, the Valmaris team positions itself as a highly active, hands-on partner. They invest from the earliest stages through acquisition and long-term company building – also open to bridging potential equity gaps.
Their investment thesis focuses on the European market, with particular interest in the DACH region, Italy, Spain, and Poland. Their average ticket size ranges from €0.5–1.5M per deal, though they remain flexible and can go higher if needed. They bring exceptional board-level expertise, having served on more than 30 Boards, and aim to work closely with searchers at every stage, helping to build the optimal cap table and supporting the creation of outstanding companies.
Thanks to their previous private activity, they already have dozens of searchers across Europe screening opportunities. In recent weeks, they have already participated in three acquisitions: a leading fleet service provider in Germany; an Italian cardboard packaging company; and a soon-to-be-announced acquisition in CEE.
