John Shoemaker and John Rosensweig have launched Vertex Growth Partners to strengthen American manufacturing through the acquisition, modernization, and growth of a domestic industrial business. They have partnered with experienced business owners and operators, including Pacific Lake Partners, Anacapa Partners, Trilogy Search Partners, WSC & Company, Endurance Search Partners, Hunter Search Capital, Applied Equity, Alza Capital Partners, Legate Partners, Thomas Donley, Tim Heath, Michael Kahn, and Luka Salamunic.
Their partnership began during the pandemic, when they worked together at McMaster-Carr, managing thousands of supplier relationships amid global disruption. That experience reinforced their belief in the critical role industrial businesses play in the U.S. economy.
John Rosensweig brings over a decade of experience in industrial operations, having led transformative initiatives in pricing, sourcing, and supply chain at McMaster-Carr. With a background in engineering and leadership roles at Draper Laboratory and Siemens, he combines deep technical expertise with strong operational execution.
John Shoemaker brings seven years of leadership experience from McMaster-Carr, where he led large teams in product launch, pricing, and finance during major supply chain challenges. His entrepreneurial journey began with co-founding Wake & Late, a profitable fast-casual restaurant in Los Angeles. Earlier in his career, he worked in biotech consulting at PA Consulting.
With many business owners facing succession challenges and demand for domestic production on the rise, they see a compelling opportunity to acquire businesses with $5–30M in annual sales, recurring or repeat B2B revenue, and strong positions in industrial services, value-added distribution, or specialty manufacturing.
